Anyone from here getting the tourists all exited on the coast Christmas Day? It's a little easier to land on the beach unseen if you don't pick the city limits of Long Beach to do it.
From the Chinook Observor, our weekly paper:
Dispatch Reports: 12.30.09
On Dec. 25 at 1:20 p.m., it was reported that an airplane landed on the beach near Sid Snyder Drive and then took off again just as officers arrived. At 4:30 p.m., the same plane was observed landing at the Ilwaco Airport. The pilot was contacted and informed that as the beach was a state highway and all laws apply, he wasn't to land there again. He apologized and said it wouldn't happen again.

Landing on either during an open Razor Clam season is a challenge. Those clammers and their clam guns can really mess up a prop.

They like to stand there right in the touchdown zone and watch the airplanes land, too. Not too bright.....
