I will be driving from Cincinnati Ohio to Anchorage/Chugiak in May. I am looking for some places to stop and see, places to camp, people's planes to see who are on the way, or any tips on taking this trip.
My current plan is to make the trip west to Seattle, take a short break, then possibly staying for a day in Concrete WA as I have family there, and then make the rest of the trip.
Some options i am considering:
- Staying for a few days in Seattle and pursuing my SES rating at Kenmore. (If budget allows)
- Checking out CubCrafters in Yakima
- Yellowstone
- Arrowwood National Wildlife Refuge
- Schnell Recreation area
- Frenchman Coulee
- Black Hills National Forest
- Devils Tower
- Golden Ears Provincial Park
Of course this plan can change dramatically, the only requirement is that I am in Anchorage by May 29th at the latest. Any ideas on places to stay for free, or places to stop and see would be much appreciated. If you are remotely on the way and wouldn't mind someone stopping by to see your project/plane/shop/whatever please let me know! Thanks for any suggestions!
