So from the red and white plane needs something the size of a dry lake bed to operate in? ;)

If you're really good maybe Santa will bring you a Maule.

Re: Citabria vs Piper Cub

They must not be, they always travel in pairs or more and seem to have problems flying cuz I keep seeing pictures of them parked in fields

Atta Boy Rob!

Super-cubs are cool and do take-off darn short. That said they are overpriced, "the Harley Davidson thing", slow, and can't haul anything. I'd rather own a Champion Scout, a lot more airplane for the $$$$. Try stuffing an elk in either and you will need a Maule or a Cessna 180.

On the other hand in order to fly a Husky you must be extremely wealthy to begin with, wear an ascot, drink only bottled water, or fine wines. Actually I went flying yesterday with a friend and he had a Husky on 31s, pretty impressive machine.

I think a lot of the problem is the pilots who fly the red/white airplanes in those photos, always fly wearing those purple high heel shoes.

Gump

LOL I love the field comment. All us BCP guys seem to fit into that category.

Gump you hussy, you said the shoe thing was our little secret #-o

I would have a SC and a lot of other types if $$ were no object. Life is a compromise. I agree with James. Harleys and SC are over priced. Some of us can't help ourselves. I have a V Rod and a Buell S3T in the shop now.

Merry Christmas hosers

You not stuffing a elk into a little maule, if you are actually doing that type of flying look at what the people making a living (kind of lol) doing that fly, a C180, beaver, otter, only thing I've seen a cub used for was camp checks.

Citabria vs Piper Cub
Its the Ford, Chevy, Dodge thing I guess. Spun the valve-stem off one of my 29s today. Glad I was not out in the middle of no-where, or on an island in the middle of the Snake River #-o . Tubes are expensive $138 a piece. Discovering a flat while parked in front ofthe Burrows Aircraft Repair hanger in Deer Park, Washington "priceless".

Merry Christmas

Actually, there've been THOUSANDS of moose, deer, elk, goats, sheep, and bear carried out of the field in a Super Cub in Alaska. Happens every fall. Yes, Beavers and 185s and 206s do a lot of that, but the Cubs still haul a lot of meat. I've hauled my share of moose and deer in a Cub. It isn't the fastest way to move a moose, but it works.

Re: Citabria vs Piper Cub

Here's an interesting thought:
There are 2 well respected members of this very site looking to trade 2 very nice C180s for supercubs....
Ever hear of anyone willing to trade down to ANY of the other brands mentioned ;)
Take care, Rob
