City Flying

I am sure glad I do not have to fly near a big city. Have you read some of the crap people are saying about that guy that wiped out three in Roseville Ca.
The People near by that crash site are saying they did not even know there is an aiport nearby or how can we complain about low flying jockey's. Who know's what went wrong, but looks like a error for a hot dog pilot. That ruins it for everyone.I can just see the day all airspace is controlled.Auh! Boise controll landing Johnson creek. Like Zane said in an early post why in the hell the Damm media make a big deal out of it.
What the hell, the two lane undivided Hiway is a blood alley risk every time you drive it.People sould ask for safer road ways and stay the hell away from trying to start shit about an airplane crash. Air to ground aircraft crashes are what one two a year?
I flew down to Auburn Ca, about two years ago and could not wait to get out of their.Smog in the Sacto valley and lots of people, you could not pay me to do it again.Maybe we should keep all this North west flying a secret to keep the yoyo's away.

The other good thing is the general public has a short memory.

That been said, I would advise that nobody fly low over any subdivision or populated area for awhile, especially in light of the fact that the local Sacramento news interviewed a sherrifs deputy that told the reporter that they can't do anything and the thing to do is "write down the tail number of the offender with the date / time / area and call the FAA". I can see the team of no noise vigilantes now, sitting a 1/4 mile from final at some airport writing down tail numbers and turning them in. The backlash from this thing is going to suck.

The only defense I can think of for that is your GPS track. If someone pulls out the binoculars and tries to get your N# (they're not gonna get mine, I've got 3" numbers) you at least have a timestamped record of where you flew and at what altitude. Of course, the best course is not to go near the altitude minimums and maintain perfect TPA if you do have to fly a pattern over a neighborhood.

I can't really defend anyone doing aerobatics over a subdivision. That was pretty shortsighted. That said, city flying is not all bad. It's a nice feeling knowing you're on a controller's screen and he's doing his/her best to keep you out of harm's way. It's the really busy untowered airports where the cowboys come out on a nice day and things get a little sketchy. More midairs have occurred that way that any other place, I would imagine.

THAT said, the backcountry really is the best.

Here here backcounrty is it. 6EA said it right also "Backlash". These mishaps will all have affect on us sooner or later.Seems like aviation is costing more and more all the time. Seems like a big Boner when it costs about $15,000 for 150hp engine when I used to put 600hp in a tunnel boat for half that. Experimental looks like it's "gettin better every day.'(Tesla ) It might keep the cost down on parts. I bought a box of cessna gear box parts and some Pponk parts and have about three grand sitting there.Hell I bought a 04 kx 250 for less than that last year. I guess since it is about 16 degrees up here right now my nut's are raisins and I may be crying out loud
