I thought my CFI and I were departing to PHJR (Kalaeloa) Class D to practice this morning. Instead he said “Go ahead and take the R44 yourself there and practice”. Wow, you want me to depart Honolulu solo? “Yes, you will do fine”, the CFI replied. This first class B rotorcraft solo was a huge step for me! It turned out everything worked out perfectly! Total flight time 1.2 hours PIC.
