Cleveland or Rapco, Organic or Metallic?

It has been many years since I last replaced my brake linings (I guess I am easy on the brakes). What are you guys running for linings, Clevelands or aftermarket Rapcos? Organic or metallic material?

I find the rapcos as good as cleveland and substantially cheaper. It can be a little ouchy replacing 24 linings

Organic or metallic is dictated by the part number and application. As a general rule the organic pads are riveted on, the metallic pads are retained with pins. Organics are usually fitted to lighter aircraft, metallics to heavier twins etc. Metallic pads need frequent conditioning if they're only lightly used, the glaze tends to 'crumble' and then eat the discs

Avoid APS or Black Steel like the plague. I had these chopping out in less than 10 hours in some cases

Rapco p/n RA66-105-8K is an 8-pack that fits the double pucks on my C180.
