If you want to go up, pull back on the controls. If you want to go down, pull back farther.

Have you ever checked the mogas in your area yourself. Call the bulk plants, they should know.

Gary,

If you get on the EAA site there is a page on how to check the gas for alcohol. Unless you buy from a place you really trust it is best to test it before using if you are really worried about it. I talked to one of the bulk drivers when he was dropping of gas at a local station about it and he said some places will even put 87 octane in their premium tanks without telling anyone. May be illegal but that doesn't mean it isn't done. The only place I really trust is a local Cenex.

It is easy to test to do at the pump. If I have any doubt, I splash some in a bottle take a look. Does the person that you are asking really know or give a damm.

I have been involved in the petroleum business for about 20 years in the capacity of a contractor. I have helped build a bunch of gas stations and from my experience most of the bulk plant operators are very consciencentious If you get a hold of the owner you will get the hot skinny.

If you talk to the guy dropping it off at the station you are talking to a truck driver. Not that I dislike truck drivers, some of my best friends are truck drivers.

All Mogas in California has alcohol in it but in Oregon (just 30 miles away)you can get the good stuff. I pick up 100 gal at a time in a slip tank in my pickup and I test it myself.

Hi Tim What test do you do? Is it the Peterson(alcohol) and/or Hodges reid, or do you have a different test? Thanks Gary

Guys,

I really don't know if the driver had anything to gain by telling me a "story". He just said to be carefull where I get it and told me that there were places that the owner had asked him to dump regular into the premium bulk tank. All I was relaying is what was said to me. Not sure if he had done what he was asked or not.

Here in MN the pumps are required to be marked that they are "non'oxiginated". To be used for older vehicles and such.

And yes, he is a truck driver! LOL My best friend and hunting buddy is an over the road driver.....don't think you would ever find a bigger BS'er.
