Colorado to Pennsylvania- Favorite Stops?

Leaving for our annual eastern pilgrimage in the Skywagon- Me the wife and 2 Kids, always looking for cool stops, restaurants, grass strips with cheap gas or cool ambience. Probably gonna aim for KMKC- Wheeler downtown Kansas City tomorow night- cheap gas, free tie-down, and 1 short uber ride to cool hotel with BBQ, and Legoland.

Who's got favorite stops in Kansas, Missouri, Iowa, Indiana, Illinois, Ohio, and Western PA?

Not in those states but if you end up a little further south into Kentucky, my parents run an AirBnB about a quarter mile from the local airport, KGLW. It's on our horse farm and is a pretty cool little spot with animals all around if you need a place to stay. I'm sure they'd pick you up from airport.

Hutchinson, Kansas has a nice restaurant on the airport.

Near Kansas City there is Paola, Kansas which has a BBQ restaurant on the airport plus if I remember correctly the fuel price is pretty good.

Nothing should have changed but you might check ahead of time if you want to stop at any of these. Sometimes the restaurants shutdown.
