Coming Home

Long time lurker low time poster. My wife took this video of me coming home the other evening. I could not resist putting it out there. I'm so blessed to have a supportive family a 800' runway and little big wheel plane.

Re: Coming Home

Nick,

That has to be the best video! (and not only because of your flying skill) Yes you are blessed. Max should be very proud, the landing was great! I'll make sure his sees the video. I hope to see you at the Essex Wings and Wheels Fly-in on the 18th.

Thank you for sharing this with us! =D>

Take care,

Haha! Nice work, you are a lucky man.

I hope you make the Graham fly-in, as I'm trying to make it too.

Re: Coming Home

Wow, really nice video. You're lucky for having a wife that seems to be just as crazy for you as your kiddos are.

Re: Coming Home

That'd make a great TV commercial for GA. Very cool.

Oh man, that could get this old curmudgeon all melancholy thinking back to when mine were that age, running out to meet daddy's airplane. God I miss that...

Re: Coming Home

Very cool. My oldest is three and when I got home on Sunday, he stopped on our way upstairs and said, "Happy". When I asked him why he was happy, he said, "Daddy home". Amazing how they can melt your heart. While I'm away, he points to the airplanes flying over head, makes the ASL sign for airplane, buzzes his lips, and says "Daddy". Nothing like the love of a child. Thanks for sharing. (Nice landing too :D )

Re: Coming Home

Enjoy it now, time does indeed fly.
When I come home after 11 months in paradise my wife asks the kids who wants to go pick up dad at the airport and all she gets is "I'm busy" or " why me? send my brother". Not that they aren't glad to see me, they have their own lives now. Under my roof and eating my food..... :)

Well, my daughter is long gone, and the ex wife has been living in Hawaii for the last 25 years, but at least Ted is always glad to see me!

Re: Coming Home

Foxflyer, that was fantastic! Thanks for sharing!

We're really lucky to have loving families that support our flying.

My youngest is about the size of your little guy, and is just as crazy about airplanes as I am. After a ride in the 'Wagon to Agness this summer, he took off his head set and exclaimed: "Pappa's plane is awesome!" That was the first time either my wife or I had heard him say "awesome."

I'll never forget the first time I took up my daughter. I had a Citabria, so she was in the back. She was about 2 and I was a little nervous about how she'd do. As soon as we left the ground, I heard a joyful "Whee!" over the intercom, and the rest is history. She's 9 now and is already talking about building a Super Cub and flying around the world in it some day. =D>
