Comunications

I enjoy this site, but there hasen't been much going on here. I check several times a day but it has been pretty quiet. So even though I am usualy a man of few words, I'll see if I can come up with something of interest.
I flew across the north Cascades on Tuesday to Tonasket and return, beautiful trip, not much snow for this time of year. We just bought a piece of property over there and will be putting in a 1500 foot strip in the spring. Maybe later on we can have a get together over there for a barbeque or something, for those not afraid of a short rough runway that is said to have a cross wind most of the time. I haven't been there enough yet to confirm that. But it is a pretty spot.

Ron,

It HAS been pretty quiet around here. While supercub.org is hopping with its thousands of members, the conversation over there stays pretty active. Perhaps it is the winter lull, we are several months out from doing any serious planning for get-togethers.

What i have noticed though, is that we are really heavy on the NW guys. So, that sounds like a WA or northern OR event come good weather. Some of the oregon links that Guy posted looked really cool too. Let's throw out some ideas(locations), later on we'll have a poll, decide where to have the first BCP fly-in.

Ambitious? Yes.

I'm still hoping some other people are going to reply to jmtgt's callout for Northern Nevada pilots so we can have a breakfast sortie.

Helicopters are great, I had an Enstrom some years back, close to the most fun you can have. The problem I have is I'm cheap. It costs so much, it takes the fun out of it. I did my own mantinance and it still cost me as much as about 3 fixed wing aircraft. When it boils down to it I'd rather have 3 planes. Well, I setteled for 2 at present, A Cub and a 180. Might add a glider as time goes on. If my finantial situation would allow me to afford another Hilo I'd have one in a minute, but not at the expence of the planes.
It has been warm here, supposed to snow again toworrow on the east side, but lots of good flying WX. I finaly got the skis rigged on the cub so I'm pretty sure it won't snow any more here this season.

I like the idea of this place: http://www.landsinn.net/

It was suggested by Guy. What I think would be really fun too is a coast fly this summer. NV guys can head up to OR via Shasta, then follow hwy 199 to the coast and on up to wherever the WA guys would like to meet. There are several small airports along the OR coast and slightly inland.
