Not sure exactly what happened when I clicked on that link, but my browser appeared to close, I could see hard drive running pretty steady, then about 15 seconds later my browser came back up with that link. Stuff like that makes me nervous!

Does fine for me.....
I have been on that site several times in the last few months and not had any computer/site problems.

The only problem it gives me is the internal struggle of 'want vs. need' and such...

Re: Cool toys-Tuff watches

I'm sure it's a fine watch.

Note the website says designed and "assembled" in the USA, which I assume means they use a foreign made movement.

$1.5K . . . Ouch.

Will restrain myself and stick with my $25 Timex for now.

Re: Cool toys-Tuff watches

These watches use a Swiss ETA 2893-2 movement, according to them. About a $250 self winding mechanical movement by itself. ETA movements are used in Rolex, Omega, and Brietling watches, among others, so nothing to sneeze at. I'm certainly not going to spend $1500 on a watch, but I can understand why they cost a lot.

Re: Cool toys-Tuff watches

In the mid-70's, my first R&R from a job in Indonesia was in Singapore. I went to the Rolex store and bought a Submariner watch. It has been on my wrist for almost 40 years. It has been under every ocean in the world, sometimes to a depth of 140ft, been immersed in sand and dust as fine as talcum powder, been in temps from -50 to +130, been vibrated by everything from a jackhammer to a dirt bike. It's self winding and still keeps time to about 2 min/mo. I had to take it off once for a hospital visit. She was really pissed and took about 2 weeks to re-regulate herself after I got out. I'm convinced that if we are ever separated, one or both of us will die. She clunks now when I move my arm, just like me. I paid something like $350 in Singapore back then. I can't get her serviced now for triple that, so I haven't done it.

Anyway, if this is the same movement these guys are using, I can testify that it really is the shit.

I recently found out that since my "Submariner" on the dial is written in red, she is a really special lady. Of course, I already knew that. :D

Admittedly it is not a Rolex, but then again, it is not a Rolex price......

Re: Cool toys-Tuff watches

The strap came, it is high-quality and as-described. I had some questions, and was thoroughly impressed by their customer service.
