Don't know about oregon, but here in Washington at about 48N 123W toilet operates clockwise. Of course, the Corvallis effect is stronger here as I'm only about 250 miles north of Corvallis.
When you said Oz has CCW toilet op's, were you looking down at it or inside looking up? (ya never know....)

Life is good. Life is better with wings.

Hey, but what about those folk living at the equator, In a 24hour day they travel 25000miles (earth circumference), galactically speaking, whereas those living in northern Alaska only travel about 18000miles in a day
Thus, equatorians are more tired and need siesta
polar people don't need siesta.

The Hell we don't...

It's all very scientific and rather multi-faceted, so let me draw you guys a diagram. The earth spins slower (relatively, as in Einstein) at the top, so there's less centrifugal force to counteract gravity, thus we weigh more. That's why Eskimo girls seem fatter than girls down south. A twelve ounce beer actually weighs 40 ounces in Barrow, so by lunch time you gotta have a nap from lugging all the extra gravitrons around with you.
