Created a Monster

Tonight I took a young engineering intern from work for some off airport landings and then back to the field where I gave him some instruction and let him practice a few landings. This was his first time in a small plane and I could see it in his eyes when we were putting the plane away, he is 100% hooked.
Felt good to introduce a new person to our world.

Re: Created a Monster

That reminds me of a time... 15 years ago, when I was spraying, I took a guy for a ride in my yellow Super Cub.... water skiing, gravel bars, under a bridge or two..(he was that kinda guy) had a ball.... didn't see him again for a few months, when I did he came running over and lifted his sleeve up......tattoo of a yellow cub  , and he told me he had started lessons.... :D , I was just glad I didn't take him in an Ercoupe.... last I heard he was an instructor....

Good for you ! Keep polluting the youth and we'll not have any gang members left. My wife doesn't fly anymore with me so I've managed to take the kids -grand kids-neighbors-friends-relatives etc. It's fun finding some one interested in flying rather than video games or skateboarding. I usually charge a tax - wash the airplane with me and we'll go again. Help maintain it and we'll go more places and see more. I used to be a CFI and decided most teenagers were more interested in sex than airplanes. I was just the opposite Airplanes were (and are) my SEX . I love what I do -work on airplanes ---- sooo rewarding to see what you've done fly off over the horizon with a grinning pilot happy to fly. Flying is a acuired taste with many flavors . For me it's a passion -I will take my airplane out and just go around the airport one day -next it's a cross county adventure to something new or different. Yea I'm addicted with flying -most powereful drug known to man. :)
