crossing the pond

Interesting article on airplanes and intercontinental drug trade, with extreme editorial slant towards FUD. Perhaps a harbinger of more restrictions against our favorite pastime.

Re: crossing the pond

We humans are such clever, industrious little primates. Too bad in cases like this we're too stupid and mean spirited to use all that energy and creativity for something positive.

I always wonder what's wrong with me----I've never used drugs and have no desire to do so but it seems most of the people of the world can't get enough.

Sadly, that's true! The war on drugs is another hopeless and endless battle!!

In my eyes, my opinion, every illegal drug user there is known to man kind is GUILTY of murder, manslaughter, kidnapping, and many other crimes!! Because the illegal drug users are the ones fueling all the bad crap (killings, beheading, kidnapping, and many other horrendous crimes) going on along our southwestern states, Mexico and all over the globe today!

Errr......I can go on for ever, but gota leave for work.

Re: crossing the pond

Holy Shitake!

I just realized the significance of this. Al Qaeda is buying up airplanes to help finance their terrorist activities. Furthermore, every impediment to general aviation in this country causes more people to abandon flying and sell their airplanes. A glut of airplanes on the market just lowers prices and makes them more available to terrorists.

All of TSA's intrusive security theater is actually making the problem WORSE! We need to divert massive amounts of TSA funding over to general aviation NOW.

Think of the children.

Big step for Al Qaeda, they had to teach their pilots how to land the plane.

Re: crossing the pond

I dunno, I have a feeling if Al Qaeda had access to 727's in SA that we would have already had some running into things here, shadowing legitimate flights etc. Or at least had some splashed near the borders somewhere?

We were excited to heli in Silverton — until we saw the bird. Looking like something your stoner uncle built in the garage out of four Meccano sets, a fish tank, and an AMC Pacer, this helicopter seats a pilot plus two only, making it a tricky vehicle, logistics-wise, when your group has 8 people in it.
