"Danger Close, " by Amber Smith

This was a very well written book that details the armed reconnaissance work of the OH-58D in the famous 2-17 Air Cavalry in both Iraq and Afghanistan. Cam will have to back me up on this, but anyone who has flown helicopters in combat can tell when a story is accurate and not a "this is no BS" story. Amber was the real deal in this old trooper's opinion.

2/17th Air Cavalry was famous in Vietnam as well. Also the 101st Airborne Division in WWII and Vietnam. Good units tend to retain their value regardless of the war. Good troops as well.

Haven't read it yet, so I'll hold my recommendation until I do - but if Jim thinks highly of it I'll read it sooner than later.
