DC-3 & Carvair At Work in Western Canada/BC DVDs

I've recently spotted this:

http://www.milehighproductions.com/

The DC-3 At Work in Western Canada DVD was released in the new year, and a similar title, The Carvair at work in BC, should be released next month. As I'm in the UK, I'll wait until both are out before ordering.

Yep, checked out the trailer for the DC-3. Man way too cool. Great looking country too.

May have to get one, video that is, not DC-3.

Thanks for the link, Bub

A few more DVD's featuring the Bronson Creek area have recently come out:

Bronson Creek - http://www.avionvideo.com/products.asp? ... id=Current Programme
Flying the Bristol Freighter Pt1 - http://www.henrytenby.com/DVDs/Bristol1dvd.html
Flying the Bristol Freighter Pt2 - http://www.henrytenby.com/DVDs/Bristol2dvd.html

The Mile High Productions Carvair & DC-3 titles from my first post are worth getting, although their production values leave a little to be desired at times.

Never seen one in person, but the Bristol type 170 Freighter looks like a helluva airplane in the pics I've seen -- sort of a mini Herky-bird. Two 14 cylinder radials of 1980 hp each, according to Wiki. I don't know how much service they saw in North America, but I believe there's one mounted on a pedestal at some outback airport in northern canada.

You consider Yellowknife an outback airport?!? Well, I do suppose compared to the states it's a tiny hamlet - but it is the biggest city (and busiest airport) north of 60 in Canada. The Freighter is ex-Ward Air I believe, and is a short distance away from the airport.

Similarly Whitehorse has a DC-3 at the airport - except it's a windsock and not just a plane on a pedestal.

Didn't recall it was at YK, sorry. But that coule be conmsidered "outback" compared to Seatac or LAX or someplace like that. Just being North of 60 (like the TV show, which I really enjoyed) kinda clicks it into a different category- at least for us southerners.
