Hey Zane not as familiar with phpBB as I am vB, how do you change default view options? For example I would like to >always< view posts "newest first" in descending order...

Yes I found the drop down box to change each thread individually, I want to change the default...

As far as I can tell, this version of PHPBB doesn't have that feature. You can only set the date sorting on the active topic you're viewing. There's no way to set descending date sort as the default, or even make your choice stick for the session.

PHPBB3 might have this, I'm not sure. I hope to move to it soon.

Actually that is very easy. In any list of topics, be it the Recent Topics page, or browsing in a particular forum, the far right column labeled "Last Post" contains the username of the last person to post, and the time of the post.

Click the little white square "page" icon next to their name, and you are automatically taken to the last post of the thread.

As far as the the last unread post...no, there is no easy way to get to that. I usually start at the last post and backtrack.

From the forum page there is on the right side a link that says "Visit post since last visit".

I use that one all the time. Shows all post since I logged in last.
Not sure if that is what Zane is saying.

Except that it only shows you threads from the particular forum you're in, whereas View Latest Topics shows recent posts from all forums and categories in one list.

From the main page it gives me all the post since my last visit from all the forums. I am not sure what you are saying. I might be confused.

No, you are correct. I built the View Latest Topics page so there would be a list of the most recent topics, even if you have already read the last post.

I forgot that you can get the latest unread topics from the root also, thanks.
