I am heading up to Seattle early next week to look at a dehaviland Beaver on wheels. Does any body know a Beaver "Guru"?. Some one who knows what to look for? And I do mean the one with wings!

Hey, You might check with Walt Sitz, of Eagle Wings Inc. in Burns. He owns one built from the ground up. He is a A/P I/A. and pretty particular when it comes to airplanes. He is a Beaver/180/185 driver too.

If in the Seattle area, Kenmore has operated and rebuilt Beavers for years and years. They treated me very well when I stopped in to get work done on the Amphib Maule M7-420 years ago. Their chief pilot knew what he was doing when he gave me a float Beaver checkout.

Bob Wyzenbeek @ Crest Airpark (S36). He has operated Beavers
for years and is on his 2nd (ground-up) Beaver restoration (it's
in the paint shop right now, already sold). If you want his contact

The Beek would be a good one for you.
You could also contact NW seaplanes maintenance at the Renton airport. All of their mechanics have worked on beavers for years and do every day.
Another great mechanic with LOTS of beav experience would be Chris Brown I believe he can be found at Arlington.
A little further away but also real good would be Viking Air in Victoria.

Scott Bethke in Bellingham.... he's a picky bugger, and knows more about Beavers than anyone I've been around. If you have engine questions, you can PM me.

I would probably stay with a prebuy from Kenmore. Call rob richie, head of maintenance and rebuild there.

You're right. Chris Brown is "The Beaver Man (tm)".

Bob just pays Chris to keep Chris from going back to work
for Kenmore (grins).

Both are great guys, if you're into Beavers, you need to get
to know them both.

I dont think you could find a better outfit than Viking Air. They specialize in all things de havilland.

If in Seattle I second the recommendations of Kenmore Air Harbor or NW Seaplanes both fly a fleet of Beavers and have a maint. facility.

I think Kenmore overhauls engines as well.

Ace Aviation at KRNT also does a fair amount of Beaver work.
