Denio juncktion has reopened with new owners.Iwas there last week and checked out the runways. All three are in good shape.They have motel rooms,bar and car gas.The restaurant will open soon.All fliers are wellcome.
Also down the hiway 25miles to the west is Fields oregon 25 miles south of the alvord desert. Runway is good condion, wind sox even works. Fields is not on the chart But it,s eazy to find.They also have restaurant , car gas rooms.
Both of these places are fun to go to have breckfast, or to use a base camp to explore the desert.

Early nineties I flew some cowboys in and out of Denio Junction a few times in our 206. I love the pictures of the mulies that get fat off the alfalfa pivots. They grow 'em big up there. The old restaurant/bar was classic . I do recall having to land on the highway during the winter.

I have to make another trip up there this spring sometime to scatter the ashes of one of the guys I used to take up there. He liked it there so much he wanted it to be his final resting place.
