We are running them tubeless on Matco 8 inch wheels, same as with the Nancos. They weigh 20.4 lb per tire compared to the Nancos at 8.2 lb per tire, so they are about 25 lb heavier total. 26 inch AK Bushwheel Airstreaks are 21 lb per tire, so pretty similar to the Dessers. We hate to add the weight, but think the added size is well worth it. These tires are much more substantial than the Nancos (in a good way). They feel very sturdy/tough, but the sidewalls are still quite soft (a good thing).
The photos below are with the tires at 5 psi which feels pretty good. We haven't experimented with higher or lower pressures yet, so slightly higher or lower might be better.
They added exactly 1 degree of AOA with the airplane empty.
On landing, the increased inertia of the tire spinning up is noticeable, similar to AK Bushwheels (not really objectionable, it's just there).
Basically, so far so good. These tires look to be a great option for light sport class aircraft seeking off airport capability. It doesn't seem like they'll give up much (if anything) to AK Airstreaks in performance (time will tell though, we admittedly don't have a lot of experience with them yet), while being less than half the cost, and they're able to be used with the 8 inch Matco wheels that a lot of Rans/Zenith/Kitfox/etc. planes are already using.
