Digital Land Status Maps?
Avionics, airplane covers, tires, handheld radios, GPS receivers, wireless Wx uplink...any product related to backcountry aircraft and flying.
I've been thinking there must be a better way to find land status/ownership than the stacks of paper BLM maps I've been packing around for years. Any thoughts on the latest and greatest electronic hardware and software? My wife as an iPad so something workable for that is preferred if it can function in the field without a network connection that is.
Also, does anyone know if this same info is available to download for Google Earth?

http://www.nv.blm.gov/LandRecords/This is pretty good. You can touch the county and it just keeps giving info.
California has the same deal BUT its an ap you need to buy for 99$.
You can get the same one for free but its labled as a California hunting map with land status. Looking for the link. I have it saved on my office computer. Working off my iPhone now. That NV blm link is great for an iPhone.

That's the one Clipwagon...
Look at the BLM land just south of Susanville and west of Herlong airport. There are some great landings there. That's part of the North circuit around here.

Thanks all - those are all useful links and have already helped me find what I was seeking.
It would be great to have something along in the plane too. Is anyone using something portable that works without network access?
