You can read my take on the issue in this thread.

I didn't name this thread but I'm changing it to quell the conflict.

WTF is that about ? Brotherly love ???

Tough love, perhaps? we all need it.

I just think it is a bit disingenuous to see all this secret squirrel gossip BS and railroading of not one but now two members over something that Akahoe1 decided - as an adult - to put out in front of all the world. I guess the thread title just rubbed me wrong mostly. Especially when it was authored by someone who I assume should know better.

Bullshit !

You telling people to go google somebody is just wrong, even if just about anyone knows how. When did it become your job to teach people a lesson.

Talk about disingenuous, how about the RAT that squealed to the feds comes in here and owns up to his crap.

Keep it up and nobody will trust anyone and we'll all be worse off.

There is no "in here", that was my point.

Google me, or yourself for that matter. Nothing in here is private. It sucks.

As for me trying to teach someone a lesson, well pardner, I guess the original thread title here that was written by a moderator wasn't designed to teach a lesson was it? I think AKTahoe1 learned the lesson long before I even read the original thread the other day and I don't need to point out anything but the less-than-obvious fact to some members that you don't even need to come to the website here - much less log in - to read what we are posting on BCP. I keep that in mind.

The privacy issues do suck, but like has been pointed out, a truly closed community with nothing but like minds rambling on, is just plain boring and no one's going to learn a damn thing.

The real issue here is some self righteous bureaucrat thinking it's his/her duty to turn someone in for a perceived violation of the rules because that's the "right thing to do." To me that's in the same book as the good Nazi who turned in the family hiding in the attic, sending Anne Frank to the death camp. I'm sure a proud moment in that German's heart, and followed the rules to the letter. "The right thing to do."

The rules are not always right.

Is there any way we can install a Wanker filter on this forum. Nobody should be learning anything from them anyway!

A wanker filter? I want one as part of my norton antivirus. Just to see the pop up flag
" a wanker has attempted to log on BLOCKED!" :D

Point taken. Just don't do whatever you are doing in Denali, I'll hammer you to the best of my ability  Anywhere else I'll be happy to point out that you were in the wrong, with some friendly advice that you might get busted, or dead, and you can take that advice and do with it what you will. I'll try not to use the word :moron:  And I'll expect the same of the rest of you when I do something dumb. I need the help... and any of you can feel free to call me a moron, it doesn't bother me in the least. Especially because it is mostly true.

Well, now I just called myself a moron in front of the world. Just wait until my girlfriend googles that.

Hell, my ex's don't need Google to call me a moron. They just climb on their brooms and skywrite it to the world.

Between flying jobs I had cop jobs. The two are actually very similar in that what I got paid for was the ability to use discretion wisely, and make smart choices. Being heavy handed and petty as SOP as a rule is not smart. Especially when dealing with nice folks.

If someone is hurtful or destructive, yeah, they're fair game if they just don't get it, and hints won't work. And some are just so blatant that they need shooting on the spot. But someone out there, hurting no one, and is just working hard to get by (or in this case, just get home), they don't deserve to be punished just because technically you can.

Gump's got it.
I think you would have to try pretty hard to FIND someone to endanger between McCall and Minden.

I'm lost
but I'm not afraid

OK so it sounds, from the above posts , like the only time I can really vent my feelings about anything is when I'm with my BCAH buddies around a campfire. Not very free speech if you ask me. Makes my BCAH buddies the really only friends I can count on in a tough situation. Screw talking here with the intentions of having someone learn from something I did wrong.

I am very sorry about what happened to a_tah-oe1 (can't google that). However, as someone else pointed out, that doesn't mean you can't discuss whatever here. Just have to word it right, "I was sitting around the campfire and aother pilot there, never met him before and don't know his name, was talking about this pilot who porked the puppy up at Sheep Sh_t Ridge and fixed his plane with rubber bands . . ." etc.

Yeah, it why I have this new friend that keeps screwing up  There is in fact less freedoms now than I believe in the past. Many years ago I almost moved to Australia because I believe it was better there. Don't really know if it is or not.

I have to disagree, I think if you fly direct from McCall to Minden you pass right over this guy, maybe there is more conspiracy here than appears on the surface?:

I support Zane and his concerns regarding the community 100%. I happened to be with him the past few days while this all went down and he was quite distressed by the family drama...I have strong personal knowledge that he only has everyone's best interests in mind.
