Simple answer is if the STC specifies a Supplement, you must have it in the aircraft, it's a required part of the modification. If you're in a country that requires a 337, these documents should be listed on the 337. Your IA should know exactly how to go about tracking down the documents or determining which ones are missing or required
STC's can be found on the FAA website here
https://rgl.faa.gov/Regulatory_and_Guid ... enFrameSet from there you can track down the STC holder and request the documents. It can be a pain tracking down older STC's. You can also request a copy of your aircraft file from the FAA, this should contain all 337's that have been raised and submitted
The Sportsman STOL doesn't have an AFMS or POH Supplement, likewise the Micro VG Kit for the 182 requires nothing more than the 'VG Operating Placard', I don't know about the others sorry
With all due respect to all owners out there, from an IA's perspective, there is nothing more frustrating than finding incomplete or inaccurate records and logbooks and being expected to overlook it because the last 10 IA's didn't do their job diligently. The owners or operators are responsible for these, but many rarely know what they are or the significance of them, they don't want to, or can't sort it themselves and invariably object to the costs associated with tracking down and compiling the missing records, or take offense when the IA refuses to certify an Annual or Review of Airworthiness until it's sorted
As an IA, we're often on a hiding to nothing, or you try to help someone and it turns sour. No good deed goes unpunished!
Sorry, rant over! Good luck with it, spend the time and get it right, it'll pay off in the long run. If you need help from your IA, remember he's a professional and should be paid as such
