Do you recognize these 2

These two came by CYXY (Whitehorse) this week...(many N & C numbers were heading up to the AK Aviation Trade Show and MayDays next week) .I think the Glassair 3 may be from AK!! I was very impressed with the Rans 7...saw it fly as well...very nice machine on a Rotax 912 I suspect...nice spanking new fabric work... Wonder if the Glassair had the 540 engine...if so, its the closest thing to flying a jet!

I've talked to the guy with the glassair a couple times and been in his showroom quality hangar before. He lives at Wolf Lake airport Alaska, hence the "WL" at the end of the N-number. It has a Lycoming IO-360 200 HP.

The glassair is a couple from Wolf Lake. They did a really beautiful fly by last year for the breakfast on the beach at the Valdez fly in. That is one incredibly fast plane.

Good call Tim. I got a little too artsy fartsy with the n number's on my S-7S, and during the initial airworthiness got called out on it. He made me change them before signing me off, and mine were much readable then the Glasair's.

The S-7LS is right out of the factory and should have been flown by a guy named Jaime Schley (not sure if he's on BCP or not). I think he's a pilot A&P that's been working in Alaska (already has an S-7), and starting a business call Alaska STOL Specialties. I know he's also got a new kit and going to build an S-7 with a modified wing and cub-style gear. The factory planes are just beautiful.

Here is his new logo. Not sure of what the business is going to do yet. Might be customized Bush LSA version of the S7

I think Joel is out of the Rans aftermarket biz Tom. At least that's the word. He might tell you more. But I am sure he will still be in the light bush plane biz. In some way.

I chatted with Jamie this AM via FB. He's actually the new Rans dealer for Alaska, and will also do flight training and tours. Think he's also now the Mackey SQ2 dealer.
