Don Sheldon article.

Wager With the Wind is one of my favorite books. I had a copy given to me by my dad back in 1974 when I was a student pilot. I decided then I’d someday have a Super Cub. And though there were other planes in the hangar before I owned a PA18 that day did come.
In 2016 I went the the Airmen’s Show in ANC and a few days later took a charter Beaver flight up to Sheldons Mountain House. What a fun day.
. I’d post an image but this forum doesn’t make it easy.
A now-gone friend was a demo pilot for Cessna in the 1960s and told me he’d taken Sheldon on a demo flight in a C180. He commented on what a natural pilot Sheldon was and also how salty his language was.

I was gifted Wager With The Wind today by my girlfriend's father. Based on all the reviews, I look forward to reading this one.

Ended up finishing this book within 3 days, would definitely recommend, was hard to put down. The Devil's Canyon rescue sounded like fairytale.

It's a classic among classics, and the reason I've had it in the sidebar for years advertising the "
bush flying library"

Half a century spent proving “it is better to be thought a fool than to open your mouth and remove all doubt.”
Ordered, should be a good read
