Re: Doryville, USA - a new Greg Swingle video

I mean no disrespect. I just asked a simple question. I'll assume these guys are related. As far as camaraderie, I'm just like any other aviator, as far as bush flying, "Been there and done it", lots of it. A pet pev of mine is to review accident reports daily because they interest me, thats all. Accidents and incidents always have a story to be told and lessons to be learned. To answer your question, I live outside of Houston, Texas, I visit Idaho as well as Nevada, California and Washington state in the summer. Snow bird! :)

Clambakejoe,

You are an interesting guy! #-o

He is or his isn't. It doesn't matter. Why does it matter to you? The accident you read about will remain the same regardless of the pilot. Any lesson you get out of it will remain the same. Leave people alone!

Sorry for the words but understand that we don't care because none of us are perfect. [-X

Take care and safe flying,

Greg and Joe,

Great video! The flying is good but I love the shot of the two of you dancing on the mountain and then high fiving each other. Really cool. This is really what all this flying stuff is about. Thanks for sharing and keep the videos coming.

Others have commented on the vid....BUT has anyone else noticed Herr Swingle flew from Ohio To Nevada, in the worst winter in some years? What, is he a glutton for punishment? That is an impressive flight, in that plane, in that weather, in my book!

Re: Doryville, USA - a new Greg Swingle video

That's funny. My name is Joe too. I'm probably going to flip a Cub soon. :P

In all seriousness, allow me to pontificate after thinking on this for a day.

This dance with do with posting in a public forum visible to the world, including the FAA, should be done delicately and with prudence, as we learned a year and a half ago when a shared tale of backcountry Macgyverism got one of our pilots into seriously hot water with the Feds. Please excuse us if we're a little sensitive on the issue.

This recent accident in question was handled on the up-and-up with the proper authorities, and out of respect and deference to a good friend and member of this community, we choose not to discuss it or dwell on it any longer. Clambakejoe, consider how you would react if I was to print your name and N# here in a public forum digging for information on you.

All the information you need is already in this forum or in the FAA database. Don't give me any BS about wanting to learn to be a safer pilot-- your attitude indicates that you're posting from a high horse, stirring the pot, so I suggest you check it at the door, if you want to remain here among a community of friends. I've already had a few requests to ban/block you, so you can understand the sensitivity we have toward "inquiry." Perhaps you've just discovered the Internet and discussion forums and you're a sincere newbie-- the remedy for that is to read more, post less.

Why don't you share a little about yourself with us, maybe post a few photos, make your introduction (without real names, N#, etc)? I don't tolerate aliases on this site so if you're not real, it's gonna be bye-bye.

Several things are sacred on this site... And "our" Joes from Austin are two of them. Don't fuck with them...
