Many of you may have experienced the recent site downtimes with backcountrypilot.org, and I discovered why.

Our host was being attacked by hackers. No data was compromised(not like there is anything sensitive on here anyway) rather the problem was that the server would explode with network traffic and overwhelm the firewall, making it impossible to connect.

I have decided to move hosts, and this will happen over the next day or 2. You may find the site unreachable or the main page will result in an error. I want to migrate the database as late as possible, so it's up to date. I will do that once the DNS changes take effect.

You may continue to post but please do not upload photos until after the switch. All should be good by Dec 25th, and I will post again.

I hope everyone has an excellent Christmas! My present to you all is increased uptime and speed and less headaches for 2006!

We do have a good group of guys(and gals mrs.big dog!) here. You can have a ton of members, but only once people get to know each other does the site really start to shine.

Well, it's Christmas Day. We're headed to Erin's folks for brunch, and then I'm gonna drool while this storm comes in, anticipating the fresh powder. Then I'm going to measure some stuff with the digital micrometer my dad got me for Christmas. NO JOKES!

Bump: Nice photo. One does not truly know the joy of flying until you are picking bugs out of your teeth, and it only gets worse cuz you can't stop smiling like an idiot. I'd like to take a ride in an open cockpit biplane one of these days. I think first I need to acquire a lot of fur and these Elton John googles.

Them 50's are pretty spendy for just plinkin'! I usually just use one of my 22's, lots cheaper but the fun(?) of the noise and kick is greatly reduced too.
I saw something in the paper recently where our worthy legislators have apparently "discovered" the Barrett and other 50 caliber rifles, and are making noise about how only a terrorist would need one, etc. They obviously are not aware of the rockhound-tool aspect of these firearms.
How far away are these rocks you're re-sizing?
