Dry Lease

Has anyone ever dry leased a plane? I might have an option for a 172 dry lease.

I haven't. Everything I rented was always wet.

Re: Dry Lease

Back when I was researching about whether to buy, rent, or club. It seemed like everything (rent or club) was all wet. The only dry leases I remember seeing was for larger high performance planes, turbines and airliners.

True, but I might have a plane that would be offered to me for an extended period of time as a dry lease. So use it as my own. Just collecting information if anyone has worked up an agreement like this. I would be paying the insurance and then a per hour rate based on minimum/max use.

Wish I could just go get a loan and buy a Maule, but not in the cards right now - but have the ability to be flying a plane. Where I am based there are not rental planes (Moab, UT)

Sounds like a non-equity partnership....I wish I could find one of those around here.

Exactly, the plane needs to be flown - owner going to AK - so only 6 months or so. I need to build some hours to hit 135 min for a part time flying gig. I am working on building a house and can't take on the debt.

Probably wont be able to hit the dirt strips all around here, but hope to be right seating a bit in a 207 to fill that void.

After the house, then will beg, borrow and steal for the maule.
