New here and am hoping to get some help regarding the pending purchase of a Mattituck TMX O-360 with ECI Titan cylinders. Have spent the last few months trying to research all the hx and issues both here and supercub.org and other sites. Have found a number of AD's and such for the replacement of these cylinders and a few complaints about Mattituck and Superior engines failing with no actual warranty support. Though it seems to be more positives than negatives, with the high price of engines now want to be darn sure before spending my life's savings.
What if any changes have been made to the current production cylinders and engines?
Along this same line of how much the engine cost's, is the hope to keep it running longer than me
, so I am looking at all the engine monitors as well. Leaning towards the EDM 700, Insights G3 and Trutraks iPad system. Like the G3's ability to monitor vibrations but have read that their graph changes its scale as the bar rises and thus I guess throwing off the visual scale for seeing small changes in the EGT/CHT. Like the new Trutrak iPad program to be able to look at the data on the large screen iPad wirelessly but its new and can not find anyone that has used it let alone for a long time. Not sure how long it can track past hx of the engine also. Lots of good replies about the EDM 700, no vibration data though and not sure about its long term data storage either. (IE being able to overlay the full hx of every time I run the engine from the day I put it together to the final day of use and graph out the changes ext.)This is going on an Exp a/c so don't have to have cert. stuff on it. Its a super cub type a/c so want to keep the tech and weight down as much as possible as well. KISS
Sorry for all the questions at once but with all the info on the net now I am more confused
Thanks in advance!!
