EDM 730/830 MAP sensor

Have you modified your aircraft? STC? STOL Kit? Major rebuild from just a data plate?

EDM 730/830 MAP sensor

When I purchased my "53 180, an EDM 730 was installed and the previous owner added a tach sensor. I was surprised he hadn't added MAP as well. I recently ordered the sensor while my plane was out of commission for some avionics work. After ordering, the avionics guy mentioned he had several customers who experienced "nothing but trouble" with the MAP sensor. Has anyone else had this experience?

Re: EDM 730/830 MAP sensor

I have an EDM 930 in one airplane and an EDM 830 in another. Both have the MAP sensor and I have never had any problem with either. After installing and calibrating the EDM 830 I did find that the mechanical manifold pressure gauge was indicating more than 1.5 Hg too low!
