EDO's How to Fly Floats
Information and discussion about seaplanes, float planes, and water operations.
It seems like this is impossible to find online these days and I was able to borrow a copy from a friend to read. So, I decided to scan it and make it a PDF, much like many of the POH's you can find online these days. Thought I'd let you guys know. PM if you are interested and I'll share a link to my Google Drive with it.

I just bought it. Paid $29 on eBay, which is a little steep but it's kinda cool because it's an actual vintage 1974 copy.
Supposedly the Seaplane Pilots Assoc sells them for cheaper?
If it's actually out of print we can host it here if you like.

Yep... I just received my copy from the SPA.. $12 for members plus $6 to ship it. It is a current reprint though, not a vintage copy.

That's not a bad price from SPA. It goes for 50+ on Amazon right now!

If I recall, there was a stack of them at their booth at Oshkosh, but it may have been another "Float Flying" book.

I feel like an idiot. Rifling through my flight bag while prepping for my AK trip I found this.

2011 edition that I got from Kenmore (for free.)

This reminds me, what was that seaplane book written by that Italian PHD guy, had tons of good photos and history and also some deep level knowledge on everything from normal ops to seaplane recovery, ice landing, etc??
*found it
Water Flying Concepts / Seaplane Operations

You are probably thinking about SEAPLANE OPERATIONS by Dale DeReamer and Cesar Baj.
This is a really great book by two guys that have given a lot to the Seaplane community. Dale was at U of North Dakota forever. I haven't seen or heard from him in quite a while. Cesar is in Italy at the Aero Club Como Seaplane Base.

Ii will go against the grain, I found seaplane operations was difficult to understand, frankly a lot of theoretical stuff.
However, "notes of a seaplane instructor" is great, easy to read and understand, chapters 8 and 9 alone are worth the price of the book.
I fly floats for a living and still go back once a year or so and peruse it.
