Electric power sled!

I'm not sure what I would use this for, but I want to live in a place where I need it.

Very Cool.

I think I saw an earlier German version of this; it came with an 88mm. I guess for Moose hunting. :D

A couple guys (brothers) I grew up with moved to Lake Tahoe after college and opened a diesel repair shop. At our 40th reunion a few years back, my buddy Tim let me in on his retirement from Lake Tahoe plan...

Put the snowblower in the back of the pickup.
Start driving south.
First place you come to where someone pointed and asked, "What's that?"
You move there.

I'm beginning to appreciate this philosophy, after having to share the roads with the pilgrims around Reno when it snows.

Hey, I live in the land of the Snowpocalypse. The interval of valley snowstorms is great enough such that people have forgotten the last one by the time next one rolls around, and they do all the same stupid things again. Wherever this guy lives, in the wilds of Canada, I don't think it's the same as Reno or Portland. 8)

Re: Electric power sled!

Plenty of snow up here Zane. Skis in the winter, floats in the summer, fishing is good. Gold mines and tar sands are booming, pay is outstanding by my standards. Free health care is starting to look good compared to the Obamacare. Downside might be no micro-breweries or fancy coffee shops. Qualified immigrants welcome.

You just need to import some qualified hipster labor. Ironic flannels and rolled up jeans, waxed mustaches and wool beatnik caps, and every one of them an out of work web designer, craft brewer, or coffee roaster. 8) I'll ship you some from Portland.

Re: Electric power sled!

There is definitely a shortage of "ironic" flannels, I will be waiting for the influx of such. Send those guys up, Tim Hortons and Labatts Blue may have some competition.

I like the aggressive look and action of this machine. Just don't think I could handle "eating" that much snow!

Not me!! I LOVE that white stuff . . . until I get tired of it :D

Besides, I can't fit my snowblower in the back of a pickup truck:

Has a heated, air-conditioned cab, and really throws the snow! It's actually so much fun I have to go find more driveways to blow.

Re: Electric power sled!

Electric drive is the great equalizer of energies, whether gas, diesel, wind, solar, steam, donkey turds, or whatever. You can use anything to charge a battery.

Nothing beats twisting a real throttle but the usefulness of electric drive is not relegated to "tree fornicators". In my opinion.

Flying is dangerous. If you think otherwise, you are new at this sport. Mind the gravity not the gap.

Re: Electric power sled!

CamTom12,

I love Tim Hortons coffee too. Tim Hortons just did a news release this week stating they are going to open up another 800 shops, some in the US. They seem to be gold mines up here. A franchise in the right location would be quite appealing if a good manager was available...

It's too bad we move around so much, I'd think about applying for my own franchise!
