emflys Custom 2009 Rans S-7S - SOLD!!!!

Yes, it is true. I have reached a transition in my flying activities.

First off, while I appreciate the sentiment, refrain from telling me I'm crazy or talking me out of it. I've thought a LOT about this, and my mission and goals are evolving. I'll post on that separately.

Those of you who know N191EW, and especially those who know the S-7, know this is a special plane. A basic ad just doesn't capture it all, so I put together a website to help market.

But here is what will be going on Barnstormers tomorrow. If anyone knows anyone who is interested and serious, please pass along.

Thanks all,

Emmet

Re: FS: emflys Custom 2009 Rans S-7S

Awe man!! When I see the awesome pictures of your plane, I often dream about flying it :) If I was in a position to do so and if it was a good fit for my size, I'd call you right this second!

Sorry you have to sell. But, I'm sure it will go quick ( not sure if that's good or not).

Thanks Pat! Don't have to sell it. I'll be flying other planes - several actually, including another S7, albeit a stock one. But I get to fly a bunch of other planes too :)

I fully get it. We only take care of these things for a time. Then move on. That's the way we are. Most of us.

Re: FS: emflys Custom 2009 Rans S-7S

Great looking airplane.
Slightly off topic but in the video for the gear there is a great lesson about halfway through. It looks like you are doing a 180 on gravel and almost rolled the outside tire off the rim. Even on the G2 we target a maximum speed of 10 knots for normal turns, without letting it stop of course. That is probably a bit conservative but it sure saves on tire wear. It is totally embarrassing to roll the tire off the rim even for a second, the whole airport wonders why it went flat since the bead looks normal by the time everybody gathers around. If you are unlucky it is obvious what happened.
Anyway, have fun with all those new airplanes you get to fly. I have to say flying the same airplane for 15 years is getting real old. Even with a stand-up toilet.

All the room in the 4 seaters finally push you over the edge eh? If you want to take the wife and kid/kids you need a flying bus. Not to worry a 4 seat plane can be fun too.

Cheers...Rob

Porter - ABW's are actually more tube than tire, so unless you are actually ripping the "tire" apart, they cannot roll off the bead. There is no bead really. They can even slip on the rim!

That is certainly a very nice airplane and one I would be very happy to own. Too bad we don't live close enough to to pool our planes! That would have worked out well for both of us. Sounds like you have figured out a way to do that! =D>

Re: FS: emflys Custom 2009 Rans S-7S

Can it go on skis/floats?? Lotus floats perhaps? Just curious as it may be a popular bird up here especially with the cabin heat!

Re: FS: emflys Custom 2009 Rans S-7S

Absolutely. Its a great ski plane (see courierguy's posts), especially with the Roberts bush gear, and there are lots of them on floats. Float fitting attachments are on the fuse, and there are quite a few folks experienced at rigging.

Plus, with two full size doors, you can park either side of the dock! Or pointed either way.

I even have a line on a set of Czech Amfib floats that are in the hangar across form me, with full install kit, and a longer Kiev Prop if someone finds interest.

Re: FS: emflys Custom 2009 Rans S-7S

Not interested.....already have one! Feel free to have any potential buyers contact me Emmet, I can tell lies about the S-7 all day long. 2400 hrs in two different ones, so I can be pretty convincing/back it up.

Continuing to fly is the biggie, what in not so much, sounds like you have that all figured out!

Fixed a couple link issues with my ad site. Better now.

Few offers, one seriously considering. But still for sale as of today.

I say the new BCP owner buys a round at Yellow Pine next year!
The S7 will be in first class hands.

I don't think the new buyer should get to wait until June to buy a round.

Sadly, no. Just not in the cards. Looking at another S-7 a little closer to my budget.
If I get that one, I will buy a round at Caveman this spring. \:D/
