Epoxy Floor Coating Vendor Recommendation

Anyone here recommend an epoxy floor coating for hangar floors? No cheap Home Depot or Lowe's products please. Looking for 20 mils thickness, 100% solids.

I placed an order for Epoxytech.net but cancelled it after seeing some sketchy things on their website and at garagejournal.com. I'm looking at:

Epoxy-Coat
ArmorPoxy
Garage Flooring LLC

Thanks!

Re: Epoxy Floor Coating Vendor Recommendation

I used AirTech Coatings Hard Deck: http://www.airtechcoatings.com/ on my garage floor in 2004 and it still looks good other than the crap that I have spilled on it. I finished furniture in the garage and the drips came up w/ mineral spirits and caused no harm to coating. Oil and gas has no effect on it.

The key is the concrete MUST NOT have oil dripped on it before you do the coating, I think that goes for them all. The process calls for a muriatic acid etch then color application then polyurethane over that with LOTS of ventilation.

You can get creative with the paint job. I saw one picture where the hanger floor had runway marking under the top coat.

Cheers,

Tom

Re: Epoxy Floor Coating Vendor Recommendation

We did test at our corporate hangar to see which coating could withstand all of the chemicals we spilled on them.

Sika CRU was the clear winner. Two weeks with skydrol and used turbine engine oil and no stains or damage. Expensive to but when only the best will do. Don't get hung up on epoxies.... they are tough but loose their sheen quickly. We put a self-leveling epoxy down first and then the CRU. Wow!!
