What's the story on this aircraft that you uploaded photos of? Looks quite roomy inside.

Half a century spent proving “it is better to be thought a fool than to open your mouth and remove all doubt.”
Looks like the Dean Wilson "Private Explorer" that he designed a few years ago. It was in a few magazines. Don't know how it flies, but it looks like a pregnant guppy. I never heard any more about it or them, I guess he never followed it up with any for the rest of us. He had another airplane design out back around the same time, don't recall the name of it but I seem to recall that it was a 4-place composite with folding wings. It kinda died on the vine, seems like.

Dean Wilson as in the original designer of the Avid Flyer? If it's the same guy I have met with him and explored his shop. He did the engine swap on my Avid for me recently and hopefully will be giving me my first dual flight in it. Great guy!

Experimental Avid Flyer STOL 582 Rotax
Yup, the Explorer is a Dean Wilson design as far as I remember. This one was in Quebec and the pictures were taken by Jacques Laberge, the famous Labradorian moose and brook trout guide. They were putting it on floats. The original was designed for a fixed pitch prop (simple) but looks like this one had an M/T put on it. That should help a bit.
Jacques also sent me a bunch of pictures showing a wrecked 170B WWWAAAYYYYYY out in the middle of nowhere.
