Fairbanks and the Totat!

Hey guys,
Leaving home after in an hour and headed to Eugene OR to catch a flight to Seattle, then into Fairbanks late tonight on the Smoker. My wife has an uncle that mines out of Fairbanks and he put together a Moose hunt for us. We don't have a lot of time, and I don't know many details, but a guy by the name of Les is flying us out of Fairbanks tomorrow in a T206 to his cabin near the Totalinika river and we are going to Hunt until Sunday, then back to work in Oregon by Monday afternoon. Should be an adventure!

Anyway, I'll try and get a few pictures up in this thread. If anybody is local, give me a call or text. Would be great to meet some of you. We will be in Fairbanks about 1am tomorrow (Thursday) through mid day I believe and then back in on Sunday, depending on how the hunting goes.

Sounds like fun! I'll give you a shout in the morning - maybe we can head to Oasis for some biscuits and gravy?

Brett, want to try and link up for this one?

This has promise. I have to work early in the morning, but have the possibility of breaking out after 8. I'll give you a call in the morning.

Morning everyone. I am not sure of our schedule exactly, but the fog may keep us around a bit longer today. I'll try and keep in touch and let's see what we can make happen.

We stayed in a cabin last night sw corner of Metro airport. Just saw a 206 on bush gear and 177 when we pulled in last night at 1am.

We are in pretty good shape out here in SVS, best we have had in over a week, but like you said, pretty ugly in PAFA, Vertical 400 and 1/2 mile.
Supposed to burn off by noon!!
Hope to catch you later. =D>

MTV,

Sam's is pretty dang good, too. I can't argue with that one bit, hahaha!

Highroad, George,

What time works good for ya'll? I'm REALLY flexible. Brett said he'd try to come as well. I just sent you both a text.

Yeah, there's a bunch of pretty dense fog right now. I was hoping you'd made it in last night, didn't see your other post! Dang!

Sifting table in uncle Tonys Hangar.
Pretty cool to watch the gold flakes separate and work their way down the table.

Lunch with George and Deb. Lots to be learned from this couple. Good to see you guys!

Our Moose buddy keeps asking how I know all these people in Fairbanks. When I tell him they are my "BCP blogging buddies" his eyes glaze over, lol!

Re: Fairbanks and the Totat!

Well, made it home from Ak last Monday in time to work the afternoon. Had a great time......did not bring a Moose home, but we saw several each day, just didn't play out right in the short time we had. The 4wheeler riding was fantastic and the fall colors amazing. I'll put up a few pics I have on my phone, which don't do it justice. But, we shot a lot if video, and when I get some time, I'll put it together and share.

Out sweet ride. 8.50x6 nose wheel with 8.50x10 mains. More prop clearance than a stock C-180!
