Fanwing
Technical and practical discussion about specific aircraft types such as Cessna 180, Maule M7, et al. Please read and search carefully before posting, as many popular topics have already been discussed.
Clever concept, but what would the actual usefulness be? They already have rotary wing UAV's that hover, and they already have R/C glider derivative UAV's that fly slow, or fly very efficient.
It is a good technical achievement,a nd I salute them for making it work... but I'd be interested to see what the mission profile or flight regime this thing addresses, that is not already addressed by an existing UAV.

Now that you mention it, if they could make it Big enough and they could just cruise around all those airports where those pesky birds gather!!
Also from the looks of it if they could go inverted would make a self propelled mower that wouldn't leave tracks??
