Farthest you've flown in 4 days?

I just did 44 hours and 18,000NM. Left Sunday and got back yesterday morning... I'm beat! :?

We did EWR-Rio de Janeiro then Rio-EWR , EWR- Rio then Rio- EWR in 4 days this last New Year. About the same hours but more miles I think.

I don't think floating in out space should be counted as flying....there is no lift geneated in a vacum :evil:

The faster I go , the farther behind I get.

18,000 in 44 hrs is 409kts, if you do it non-stop. If you factor in some fuel stops, a pee break and a meal or two it's up over 500kts.

I'm guessing this wasn't in an Avid Flyer...

(oh wait.. that was logged flight time... :-) )

Yeah, lets talk single pilot, hand flying, navigating with your own eyeballs kinda long flying days....

About 30 years ago, when I was much younger, and probably dumber, I flew a 108 HP PA-18 from Penticton, BC to Fairbanks, AK during one long, cold, snowy April day. Left at about 0300, and got into FAI at about 2300 hrs.

Never again.

And I bet the guys who do the long ferry flights can beat that by a looooong ways.

Flew a 206 on wheels from Arlington, WA (sea) to Lake Hood strip (ANC) up the coast in one day. Can't remeber how far it was but my butt has never been the same since. Think it was 12 or 13 hrs. Lots of daylite in AK :wink: Can't imagine 18 hrs in a cub :shock: Did do 12 hrs in a cub once in the Brooks range. Couldn't find my funnel after fueling the last time. It was still in the tank :oops: Found it the next day

Back in 1998 I had been told by my pee pee Doc that I had Prostate cancer. Two of my three children talked me into a flight to BC. I left Portland and we stayed the night in the San Juan Island Orcas Island. The next day we flew up the Frasure River to Williams Lake and on into Chilko Lake. We spent the night there. The next day we flew back down to the states and stayed the night at Roslyn, WA. The following day we flew back to Portland, Or. to finish our 4 day trip. By the way the doc took care of my cancer and it has been good for the last 11 years. Bob

Well...we know the Air Force never heard of 30 hours in 7 days: 100 in 30 days and 1,000 in a calendar year.

Super Chipmunk from Wiscassett, Maine to Hoquiam, Washington in two and a half on a tight schedule to make it to an airshow. Literally coast to coast. Overnighted in Peru, IN and Eagle Butte, SD. Oh yeah, we hung and test flew an overhauled AEIO-540 the day before we left. Fun!

Flew a 65 horse J-3 from Nevada to the Oshkosh in 4 days, most of it in the cramped little front seat, as my 16 yr old daughter did most the flyin....and got her first solo in at Log Cabin airport, WI. on the way... No radios, gps or compass (well, we had a compass, but it read the same heading all the way to oshkosh and back). ...And, we changed seats once, in the air...

I've only been sat down twice for the 330 and that was right after OIF kicked off. I logged 800 hours that year. We'd never get anything done if we were limited to 30 in a week. We also have a 24 hour crew duty day where ever we go. Without that we'd never get anything done either. It takes a LONG time to load and unload a C-5 sometimes. 4 CH-46's or 5 MH-53's helos takes a while to tie down :wink:

Hell, if you want lots of hours join the blue collar air taxi boys and girls up north. There it's 1,400 hours a year max, and we always had to pace ourselves so we didn't time out in November. And that doesn't count a whole shitload of un-logged time in our own airplanes out goofing around on our off-duty days.

Your butt and that left seat really get to know one another...

Yeah that is all good but I think this is sort of a record. Bought a 182B in Providence, RI and flew it back to weed, CA. It was winter and it took five nights and mooched that all the way home (two nights thanks to BCP members I had never met). Only bought three meals.

The funniest was when I stayed with Patrol guy the first night in Ohio. Landed on his grass strip on his farm. Pushed plane in a hangar. His wife fixed a great meal that night.

The next morning we went to breakfast at a really great place. I went to grab the check and he pulled it out of my hand and said "I don't want to be the one responsible for you having to buy a meal".

Second night was with 180 Marty in Iowa. Learned all about ethanol. Had to buy a berger the next afternoon in Nebraska. The next two nights with old friends in Vernal, UT. Bought them dinner once.

Landed at Spanish fork, UT, borrowed my brothers car and drove to my sons house east of Ogden for the night. Had to buy a number 1 at McDonalds the next morning.

Made it home from there. Oh and by the way, I had about ten offers from BCP members for my trip home.

left Janesville Wi (KJVL) at 6:40 A.M. CST on a saturday morning in a 1946 stinson 108-1. Stopped for fuel in Souix Fall SD and Mobridge SD and over night at Miles City Montana. Left Miles city 0720 fuel stops in Helena and Lewiston ID and landed at Vancouver WA at 6:20 pm PST on Sunday. Two great days of flying over some of the prettiest country around.
