Favorite cleaner for belly slim?
Have problems with your aircraft? Maybe just questions about how best to tune or adjust something? Regs or maintenance? Need to know the best way to do something?
What's everyone's preferred cleaning agent to get the slim/oil residue off the belly? I've only washed the belly of my plane once since I bought it and it sucked. Surely there is something that won't hurt the paint but will cut the grime without extensive scrubbing. I used purple power last time and turned a bright blue chami-scrubber black in an instant. From there, I just spread the grime around like butter on toast. With dirt particles mixed in, that can't be good for the paint. Trying to avoid that again. Thanks in advance for any advice.

Buddha Belly from Plane Perfect is great. I think there's a BCP discount as well. Their other products are excellent too.

I just use the honda motorcycle polish from the dealer. It's like $5/can, works great.

I used to use PJ1 air filter cleaner for everything degreasing-related. Fairly mild but will cut through most oil or grease based gak,

Half a century spent proving “it is better to be thought a fool than to open your mouth and remove all doubt.”
GoJo without the grit and washes off with water.

If it looks smooth, it might be. If it looks rough, it is...www.bigtirepilot.com ...www.alaskaheliski.com
Extreme clean works great. Envirosolve is also good but more expensive. Formula 409 will discolor any bare aluminum and it will need to be republished. A rag with some avgas on it works great, but your insurance company will not approve if they find out.

Gravity Strikes Again.
I've seen mineral spirits in a pump sprayer used before.

As AKT says, Av gas is the best thing I've found over 25 years of ownership. Does not take much and do it after no more than a few days worth of belly gunk.

Moss Farmer; agree- GOJO without pumice. Been looking for the holy grail of belly cleaners since the early 80s, GOJO, wipe on with rag or even by hand, let set a few minutes and wipe off or rinse off with hose if you have water. Actually (no shit) cleaned the exhaust stain off my turbo 210 right cowl flap that is located directly behind exhaust. AND took no paint with cleaning and very minor scrubbing.

Avgas works for me!! The Stinson with the Franlin liked to spit oil. I tried the budda belly and it kind of works but the avgas takes off the slim!!!

Agree with Moss farmer and flyingjack.
Gozo original formula with no pumice.
I’m told the key ingredients are Varsol, detergent, and gel.
Perfect. Varsol dissolves the oil, detergent releases the Varsol/oily mess from the paint, and the gel helps the product to stick and resist gravity so it’s not running off before the job is done.
Varsol is the local trade name for mineral spirits or white spirits.

Oil Eater, mix 50/50 with water in a spray bottle, spray on, wipe off, easy peasy.
