Finally soloed in 5555C!

Finally flew my 170 solo last week! It seemed like it took forever between a new tail wheel and the busted gascolator to get enough practice but it finally came together. It was awsome to solo a tailwheel plane in front of all the high time 172 pilots. Thanks for all the help. :D

Let's see if I remember how to land this thing.

Congrats Dusty! Its almost like earning the Private Pilot all over again... an endorsement to learn; and believe me, I haven't stopped since...

Dusty,
Now that you have cast off your training wheels, welcome to the fraternity of real avatiors.

Congratulations Dusty. You'll find the additional challenges of taildragger flying a lot more satisfying.

Fly It Like You Mean It!

Plus you just feel cool taxiing past the FBO window, as you see your reflection...haha. Congrats! I still have yet to solo mine because of weather and various other reasons, but I'm not far behind you.

Half a century spent proving “it is better to be thought a fool than to open your mouth and remove all doubt.”

Thanks, and tell me about the weather! The last five hours with my instructor we're in 35kt crosswinds on our little 2400'L 40'W runway  . All the other guys sat in the fbo and drank coffee, but my instructor thought it would be a good experience. A bit nerve racking , not to mention it being in the wake of the two guys that killed themselves here recently. Non the less we gotter done.
