IMO the one that gets the clear mogas is the one I go to. Either on is fine with me. I would stop at either one on the way from my place to Idaho. Does Fields have chili dogs?

If you have ether ones email address let me know.

I would much rather Fields had mogas than 100LL.

I wonder if his liability insurance would go through the roof with 100LL cuz he would be catering to airplanes. With clear mogas he would be catering to ATV's that do not want to put ethynol in there bike.

Denio and Fields are only 20 miles apart, so I don't really care which location, either would be great, and both would be better! As for flavor, MOGAS, MOGAS, MOGAS!

Re: Flaps on Takeoff -from CPA

I'm in!!! This last summer I got back to Denio for the first time since being on a helitack crew in college. Great strip! This sounds like a lot of fun. Lake View isn't that far away either for those of us stuck with burning 100LL.

I'm assuming Alvord is nosewheel friendly? How does it compare with Ibex?

If for some reason we needed to something closer to civilization, there is a nice strip on the southern tip of Promotory Point just west of Ogden, UT. Anyone know who owns it and the land around it? Depending on who owns it, there is plenty of space to camp if allowed.

If you want to go up, pull back on the controls. If you want to go down, pull back farther.

Re: Flaps on Takeoff -from CPA

Thanks Gary. I knew all of this but it's good for those not familiar. I actually fly around/over this place all the time but never landed because I've never been sure who owns it or whether it is allowed.

Does anyone know???

I've been sitting here checking out Alvord. That place looks like a lot of fun. Anyone got some good vids flying into Fields Station or Alvord? Post'em!

Re: Flaps on Takeoff -from CPA

Is this going to happen? I'm without a plane right now, but have flown into Denio many times. We spend the winters chasing chukars out there and I've spent many of hours in the hot tub at the Alvord. Both Denio and Fields have great owners. We have a trailer parked in Denio and I would definitely make the trip to see all the fun. I hope it works out.

Re: Flaps on Takeoff -from CPA

I am in. We need to get a date set so we can get to planning.

Lets make it about the same time that the strips in Idaho open up so we can combine a few things. I personally would like to go into Grahm again this years to shoot those miserable squirels that dig holes in the strip do Alvord just before or after the squirel shoot. Maybe through in Owahee Res in the mix. I think the best squirel shooting is just after the snow is gone.

Re: Flaps on Takeoff -from CPA

I am in. Not sure when you can start landing at Alvord but I have herd that just after the snow is gone is best for the squirells. http://www.airnav.com/airport/U45 This is the spot for the shootin.
