Most of the 206 models are only certified to 3300kbs on skis per the TCDS right from the factory. So at 3350 they actually got a 50lb increase.Skydive206 wrote:I was wondering why the reduced gross weight with the skis? Floatation? Break the skis? Thanks for any info.
Skydive206 wrote:So far from what I can tell. The Fli-Lite 4000s were part of Cessna's 206 equipment list. No STC required. Wipaire does not support any parts for them but has all the drawings etc. Wipaire has a STC to use the 3450A hand pump with the Fli Lites. I wont have these on this season but we will see about next winter. I am looking for, or a copy of Cessnas 206 floatplane, Ski plane POH Supplement.
Skydive206 wrote:This is what I found out about Cessna 206s and the Fluidyne 4000 Hyd wheel skis. They were originally certified on 206s through F model. 3300# weight limit. My Flint Tip Tanks increase the GW to 3800# Wheels, Floats, and Skis. Floats and Skis had a additional POH Supplement from Cessna through the F model. The G model, Cessna removed all the info from the TCD and POH (Now called AFM) that covered Skis. My 206 is a G model and I already bought the skis. So I need Approved Data. Field Approval is my best option. Wipare has all the paperwork and drawings for these skis. They were kind enough to help me. They got Field approvals on a couple H model 206s back in 2000. Wipare has an STC to use the Electro Hydraulic Pump, Selector, hand pump from the hydraulic system for the Amphibs and I have the 3450 amphibs so I just had to T into the hydraulic system for the Main skis. Nose Ski uses 1 side of the float hyd system. Got the fuselage fittings from Atlee Dodge. Filled out the Field approval checklist, etc, etc. Airframe Manual Supplement needed to be approved by the ACO. This process started taking too much time. I finally found a DER thats approved to review AFMS and got past that hurdle. Now my paperwork is finally done...... Now lets see if there is any snow left.
