Flight Training at/near CdA, ID

Hi all,

First things first - apologies if this is the incorrect forum to ask; I browsed the others and couldn't find anything related to flight training.

I'm a low-hour, "newly" minted PPL (got it 2016) who recently relocated to CdA. I haven't flown in over a year, but I'm looking to get back into it and bust out my IFR -> CFI ratings, as well as get my tail-wheel endorsement and get training on backcountry flying.

Does anyone know of an experienced, reputable CFII they could recommend? I haven't yet checked out the FBO at KCOE but through internet research I've found a couple of flight schools there -- "No Limits Aviation" and "Action Flying Service" (the latter seems more Mom-and-Pop based, which is my kind of style).

I'd appreciate any suggestions from pilots who trained and fly in the area.

Thanks!

God put me here to accomplish a certain amount of things...right now I'm so far behind, I'll never die!!

Can't speak for either of them, but FlyCoe.com and NoLimitsAviation.com. KCOE has become inundated with training now, it's nuts. Waited for 5 airplanes on Saturday when I was departing. Hope to see you around.

Northwest flight school at Felts Field (KSFF) has a fleet that includes well maintained Cirrus and C172 aircrzft. I've sat through a few of their ground school classes, and am aquainted with some of their instructors. I think they'd be a good bet that's not far from Coeur d'Alene. If youwant to travel a little further Deer Park (KDEW) has a couple of flight schools with good instrument instructors and well maintained aircraft.

Good luck with your search. If you want some additional local intel the Washington Pilots Association (WPA) is at Dacy's Restraunt in Spokane Valley Wednesday evening (day after tomorrow. A good cross section of pilots from your new home town, Spokane, and surrounding areas usually shows up.

Here's the Spokane chapter WPA website; https://www.wpaspokane.org/. It has some information about the speaker and directions to the restaurant.

Cda aviation & maintenance is great! I just finished up with them and my hangar is right across from their location. I have been flying since 2012 and with life, something always came up before going on my check ride. I decided in January of this year I was going to finish. Bought a hangar, then a 182. My instructor was Darrel and he was amazing. Unfortunately he just got hired on by horizon. I also did some training with Jonathan, who is still there and he is great too. The owners, Kirk and Christian are standup guys. Christian is a pilot for Delta, but oversees the curriculum. I can connect you with Jonathan, I’ve got his cell. Action (another Darrel) great instructor, but the issue is they only have one plane, thus why I went with cda aviation, 3 172’s and much nicer than 9895V (actions) plane. Drop me a PM and we can connect
