Float Fly-Ins

Spent the weekend at the BC Floatplane Association's annual meeting at Nimpo Lake, BC. Limited attendance this year mainly due to poor weather on the lower mainland and Vancouver Island. Those of us that made it had another informative party. Tom Bass gave a very good presentation on the Alaska Forest Service's remote cabins.

Tomorrow we launch for Yellowknife, the Northwest Territories for the Midnight Sun Fly-In. Not sure if we will go direct, a long day (10 hrs +/-) or if we will stop along the way for the night. Flying straight floats makes this type of trip more of a challenge due to fuel availability. After the meeting we will do some remote camping for 4-5 days before returning home to our own bed and shower, yeah.
