Sorry! Not really BCP related but I believe there’s some folks that might be able to steer me in the right direction.

I might have some free time while on a business trip in Florida and I’m curious if anyone can recommend any aircraft rentals (specifically Cessna 172) in the Orlando and Daytona Beach area.

I know there’s a ton of major flight schools in that area of Florida but I’m hoping to find a very casual FBO with simple and quick check ride process.

And while I’m asking for rental suggestions, are they any fun places to fly to that’s not too far from the Orlando/Daytona Beach areas?

I just spent a week in Arcadia FL (X06)... just to escape the cold for a few days. It won FL airport of the year award last year. They have Taco Tuesday and a food truck shows up. If the weather is good you better get there early! It's a quiet little airport ... pretty laid back with the friendliest staff you've ever met.

It's a little far from Orlando area but Everglades City (X01) made a nice lunch trip for me one day. You can rent a bike at the airport or the local restaurants will pick you up. Known for Stone Crab (and other seafood).

Winter Haven (GIF) has a good restaurant on the field. Check their hours as they were slightly different from what I found on line. Also home to Jack Brown's seaplane base which is worth a visit... you can sit on the dock and watch J3s come and go.
