Fly-in/camping/beer/fire and naked women

A fly-in is being planned for Oct. 5,6 and 7th or any of those days for those just looking to do some flying.
We are planning Dolores Point in Colorado, this airstrip in on the Colorado Utah border very close to Moab Utah.
cordinates: N 38* 42.115 W 109* 02.602

Dolores Point is close to Canyonlands National Park and Arches National Park. Two great parks, can't wait to fly over them. Canyonlands has a airport also.

I'm going to bring a bunch of fire wood (cedar) so we can enjoy the end of summer.
We're planning to do some morning flying BCP style. We can talk it over while drinking a few beers by the fire the night before regarding were to get our airplanes dusty.
Some Utah strips nearby Tangri-La, Mineral Canyon, Dirty Devil, Happy Canyon, Rustler Canyon, Needles Outpost, Horseshoe Canyon, High Spur, Willow Spring and many more very close to one another. The new Fly Utah book will be there so we can discuss that.
Dolores Point is very usable and has nice views, great parking, nice grass, and good camping. My wife and i came here on a hot summer day and we did not use but only 700 feet or so. Nosewheel aircraft can handle it no problem.
Gateway is only a 4 minute flight away and it has a dirt strip that is awesome and the folks will come and pick you up for a really great breakfast or to sleep in there resort (owned by the owner of the Discovery Channel)

If anyone is interested please post, summer time camping is almost over.

You got my attention. Throw some firearms in there and you would cover all of the bases.

For naked girls, try the Chicken Strip in Saline Valley. I hear there are a few other places in Nevada that offer that kind of ground support as well. :)

Unfortunatly that weekend is out for me. Any other weekend in October would be fine.

The second or third weekend of October I will be heading somwhere. Not sure where yet. Been to Chicken strip once and that is an option.

Amacbean, i hope you make it over. My wife may be flying along as well and i'm sure her clothing will not be removed.
Tell your buddies about it too, more pilots camping=more fun.
I hope to see some guys from this site over there, lots of pilots from Utah on here.
a64pilot: i didn't even think of that, I could bring my boom stick and a box of clay pigeons and a thrower to get a little practice.
More importantly what kind of steak to buy and grill.
I may be taking some air out of the mains for the Utah backcountry fun day. Peter

well looks like we got a few of us committed, "Shortfielder" and myself will be flying from Durango Co, and another BCP (i think) is flying in from Scottsdale AZ with his wife.

I was hoping to meet some BCPs from Utah. Anyone like camping and flying in the utah backcountry?

Tucsonwis, it's great to hear you're flying in :D
Just to make it easyer on ya i would suggest not to bring any wood along, my wife has choosen not to go camping with us this weekend so i will bring more then enough firewood for us to have at least two nights of big ol' camp fires. I'm thinging somewhere in the area of 150lbs of juniper. it gives off a beautiful aroma and burns really nicely. I'll be flying solo so it will not be an issue, since you'll be flying with two you'll likely have a lot of stuff. see ya soon Peter
