Fly the Big Sky?
Not necessarily information about airstrips or airports, but more general info about a greater area or a route of flight.

Does anyone here have this book? Does it have any info that can't be found on a chart or in Montana's airport directory? I was considering picking up a copy, because I'm curious if there are any fun/interesting places to land around the Bozeman / SW Montana area that aren't on the chart.
Any input appreciated, thanks!

That's what I was afraid of...darn. And I've got the MT AFD so I'll definitely pass on buying it, thanks for the info.

If you are just looking for places to land...Galen's book is not much additional help. It is, however, a great way to increase appreciation and enjoyment of the places you do land. There is a history and back story to almost every place in the book which Galen digs out. Technically, there are hints about approaches, surfaces, and other information you won't find in a chart. If you are going to use a chart ... be sure to get a Montana DOT-Aeronautics WAC chart for Montana. There are many more airstrips on that chart than on the sectional. It was worth the money to me. yeah I bought it a long time ago and I spent more time in the info section than on the strip pages since most of them are paved... but a few are dirt and it's nice to get a picture of where you'[re going....
