That's the only depressing thing for me. Most of these strips are outside of the performance level of the planes I have access to fly. I hope that some day UT will, as a state/pilot volunteers, have as good as a program as Idaho does and that those strips that need work will get it. It is so disappointing to see a strip that looks doable, only to read that it is for high clearance type aircraft or BTCT (big tire cub type) aircraft only, due mostly it seems to high brush or other obstacles.
Hopefully there will be lots of work parties to get these strips up to par. From talking with Pat Morely at the Division of Aeronautics, I gather that the state is interested in getting these strips recognized as established airstrips (meaning on the sectional). Will the state assist with supplies/$ for their repair/upkeep?
Anyone have the inside scoop to this???
