Flying: A daughters Perspective.

I was going through some papers tonight and found something my daughter wrote for a school paper three years ago. I thought it was too precious not to share. I have the original hand written copy.

The Time I Felt I Wasn’t Human

The time I felt I wasn’t human was when my dad took me on an airplane ride. (My dad is the master when it comes to flying airplanes, he knows everything about them.) He took me on an airplane ride for my birthday present last year.

It was so fun! It feels so good looking down across the valley. You feel so free once you take off into the beautiful sky. I felt like a bird. It was like all my problems were behind me and I felt the urge to do only one thing, be free. I didn’t feel human at all. I didn’t think you could ever feel this way when you are human. We flew into the wondrous heavens. It was so peaceful up there.

My dad flew all around Pinesdale and Heaven. Everything seemed so big before, but suddenly, looking down from the plane, it didn’t seem big at all. It was as if I was looking out of someone else’s eyes, a different point of view. I discovered something important that day. You have never really lived life if you haven’t been flying.

Re: Flying: A daughters Perspective.

As an adult, I look at things from a mission perspective; trying to endure whatever it takes to get from here to there, get things done, etc. This is as precious as you indicated; we tend to blind ourselves with clutter and miss the wonder that a child's eye catches. Thanks for sharing!
