Flying and Predator hunting

I’m interested in flying out and doing some predator hunting, sleeping in the plane or a tent and staying a few days. I’d like to here your stories, how to’s and experiences y’all have doing this. Maybe share your knowledge of landing on public land to hunt or finding ranchers that would allow such an activity. I haven’t even researched it, figured I’d start here, thanks

I've done a bit of predator hunting up here in Alaska, though likely pretty different than what you'll experience. It's super fun seeing a lynx or coyote coming into a call! Even called in a wolf once, which was absolutely awesome.

You'd be welcome to fly in here and hunt on us in MT. You'd maybe get some coyotes, but wolves are a different story. As many as we have here, and as many as we can get to howl at you, success rate for hunting is statistically less than 1%. They're so much smarter than anything else out there that it's not even funny. Last winter we had a big mess with FWP stating one day that it was legal for us to hunt them from the air, and it was a scurry of people heading out in airplanes here....about noon the next day, they had gotten clarification on the rule and decided it wasn't legal after all.
Wolf season closes here on the 15th of March, so not much time left. If I'm not wrong, Idaho is open pretty much all year.
Wherever you wind up going, GOOD LUCK! Take some pictures!!

They are very smart, I can mess up a call or a set and they won’t come back to that area for a few weeks. They also learn what sounds/calls are associated with getting shot at. We have predator competitions down here and some rely only on calling them in which teaches them to stay away. We can also hear many dogs howling and that number seems much higher than the amount of them taken.

We are covered up in hogs, you wouldn’t believe how smart they are! Back several years ago I ran several hound dogs and catch dogs, we would catch them, hog tie them, haul them out and sell them. I’m getting kinda old to be wrestling hogs and chasing hounds all night

I've heard that about hogs. So far, that's one we don't have right here, but there are rumors of them along the Montana-Canada border..... :|
